John Humby

It is with sadness we report the news that John Humby passed away on Friday morning. John was a stalwart of Beccles football club and a long term supporter of the Angliam Combination. We send our sincere condolences to his family and all at Beccles.

Flint hat-trick sees Bungay go second 

Thetford Rovers 1-5 Bungay
Three goals from Shaun Flint, a Shaun Whiteman penalty and a Dan Andrews goal saw Bungay to a comfortable win at Thetford on Saturday, and moved them up to second place. Click here for match report.

Around the Club: Reserves and Sunday 1st team draw, 'A' beaten

Bungay Reserves drew 3-3 at home to Stalham Reserves - thanks to three goals in the last five minutes! The 'A' team were beaten 4-0 at home by Hearts of Oak, and the Sunday 1st Team lost their 100% record in drawing 2-2 at home to Aslacton and Great Moulton.

Junior round-up

Five games this week, with 3 wins and 2 defeats:
Boys:the Under 14s lost 1-3 at home to Mutford & Wrentham, and the Under 12s won 3-1 away to Freethorpe.
Girls: the Under 16s lost 0-10 at home to Brandon, but the Under 14s got their first win of the season, 5-0 away to Brandon, and the Under 11s beat top of the table Worstead 3-2 at home to stay second in the table.

Renovation work  on 1st Team pitch

Work started on this on 5th June, with the old surface being removed and the level raised. The new seed is now growing well. Click link for update and photos.

December 100 Club winner drawn

The draws for December were made in the Clubhouse after the Committee Meeting on Monday 8th, and the winner of both the draws was new Town Reeve and Committee Member Terry Reeve, who won both the £50 and £150 prizes, as both of his numbers (24 & 89) were drawn out.

Ex-Bungay player returns

Tim Clarke was pleased to announce today that Joe Mcfarlane has signed for the club from Horsford. Joe is an experienced utility player and will be a massive boost to strengthen the club; especially in the next few weeks while so many players are recovering from injury.

New Girls' teams looking for players

Bungay Town Girls have just started 2 new teams to complement the other girls teams they currently have, The U10's (school years 4-5) are training on a wed evening 5.30-6.30pm under Leah Shepherd and Inna Marx from the ladies team,and will start their league games early in November. The U12's (yrs6-7)will train on a Thurs evening under coach Charlotte Power 5.30-6.30pm, they will play friendly games shortly to build up numbers this season and start next season at U13's, any new players can just turn up or for info call Graham 07778 358464

Calling all budding junior footballers - Bungay Town needs you! All of our junior teams are looking for players for next season - from Under 6 through to Under 16, boys and girls. Bungay Toddlers Football Class
