Sad News

It is with great sadness that the Club announces the passing of Roger Thomas. Roger had been a long term supporter of Bungay Town FC , a regular spectator at matches and an enthused and active committee member for many years. His passion for football will be sadly missed.

There will be a celebration of his life at 11am in the Emmanuel Church on Monday 11th August followed by light refreshments at the Maltings Pavilion. Donations in his memory to RNLI and Cancer Research via the Rosedale Funeral Home in Bungay.

Bungay beat Hempnall in friendly

Bungay beat local rivals Hempnall 2-0 on Thursday, thanks to two goals from Shaun Flint. Click here for short report. 
In their first friendly they were beaten 2-1 by Premier Division Long Stratton on Saturday on their first friendly. Click here for short report. Next game: Blofield United away on Saturday 2nd August (2pm), followed by and entertain Loddon United (home) on August 6th. See full list of friendlies.

Training for men's teams

Training for the new season started on Thursday 3rd July at 7.30pm, then Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8th July. Players old and new welcome.

Opening league fixtures for 1st Team and Reserves

Bungay will start their Division 2 league campaign on Friday August 15th with a home game against Acle Reserves (6.30pmKO), followed by a trip to Caister Reserves on Wednesday 20th. Bungay Reserves start on Saturday 16th with a trip to Watton United.

New signings announced for 1st Team

Bungay Town's preparations for the new season continue, with manager Tim Clarke delighted to welcome Aiden Lowe back to the Club after a season at Beccles, and also the signing of Paul Franklin, who has come out of retirement, having previously played for Tim at Hempnall. In addition, many of last seasons' squad have already resigned, including Dom IMirner, Ben Player, Tom Halliwell, Rob Howe, Nathan Causton, Dan Andrews, Shaun Whiteman, John Riches and Kevin Riches.  Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
Latest news: Ryan McFadden signs from Poringland, Sam Olley returns from Beccles Caxton and strikers Jake Taylor and last year's leading scorer Shaun Flint have both signed. 

Simon Ratcliffe appointed as new club coach

The club are delighted to anounce that former Norwich City, Brentford and Gillingham player Simon Ratcliffe has been appointed as club coach. Most recently Simon has been coaching at North Walsham Town.

Renovation work  on 1st Team pitch

Work started on this on 5th June, with the old surface being removed and the level raised. The new seed is now growing well. Click link for update and photos.

Bungay win League Cup

A good crowd watched a committed Bungay side ease past Waveney to win the League Cup Final at the Norwich FDC. Bungay's fears of another final defeat were blown away at Norfolk's 'Field of Dreams' as Shaun Flint, Shaun Whiteman and an own goal completed a 3-0 win. Norfolk FA have built it and Bungay supporters certainly turned up to cheer their team to victory.

Training for the new season started on Wednesday 9th July, and continues on Wednesdays at 7pm. Players old and new welcome.

Under 9s players needed (school Year 4 in September)

Bungay U10s represent Suffolk FA

Bungay Town Under 10s were asked to represent Suffolk FA at the national Futsal competition in Welwyn Garden City and remained undefeated all day. Click link for photo or match report

Players required for junior teams

Calling all budding junior footballers - Bungay Town needs you! All of our junior teams are looking for players for next season - from Under 6 through to Under 16, boys and girls. Most teams train throughout the Summer, so you can join now, even though it is the end of the season. Contact the team manager for your age group or Secretary Mick Simpson on 07971168446.

Bungay Toddlers Football Class
